Mads Tolling & the Mads Men featuring Kenny Washington

Violinist Mads Tolling, a former member of the Turtle Island Quartet and of bass legend Stanley Clarke’s band, has been leading his own exceptional groups since 2007. The two-time Grammy award-winning string-man has also performed with heavyweights Chick Corea, Kenny Barron and Ramsey Lewis. Leading a new project, the internationally renowned violinist is celebrating the music of the 60s Mad Men Era with his own distinctive style and innovative flair. The show debuted to much fanfare at the Historic El Campanil Theatre in Antioch, California. It is a fun and exciting program that is at once nostalgic as well as contemporary, and includes Academy Award-winning movie themes, popular TV classics, and top 10 hit recordings. Repertoire ranges from “Mission Impossible”, “The Pink Panther” and “Meet the Flintstones” to “Georgia on My Mind” and the love theme from “Romeo and Juliet.” A talented composer, Mads has an adventurous spirit that guides the listener to places we didn’t know a violin could go. The Mads Men features Colin Hogan on piano; Sam Bevin on bass; Eric Garland on drums, plus featuring the silky smooth vocals of Kenny Washington.
