About LEARN HOW TO CREATE A PLANT FROM A CUTTING

The Monterey Bay Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society at 10 AM on Saturday, November 7, at the San Lorenzo Garden Center, 235 River Street, Santa Cruz, will present a cutting workshop on growing rhododendrons from cuttings. At our program, Mike McCullough, a long time grower of rhododendrons, will show you how using cutting material, peat moss, perlite, styrofoam cups, and plastic bags one can turn cutting material into plants.
At our cutting workshop you will be able to turn cutting material into plants that you can take home, and will hopefully bloom in about three to five years.
Mike McCullough will provide cutting material mainly of Maddenii Series and Vireya Series rhododendrons which are rhododendrons that are superb for our area but are unfortunately not provided by nurseries like they should. Many maddenii and vireya hybrids were created in California and they are ideal for our climate.
