Recognized as the man who brought organ jazz back to life, Joey DeFrancesco has been playing his instrument – and playing it well – since age four. He started playing gigs at the age of ten with legendary musicians such as “Philly” Joe Jones and Hank Mobley, and signed his first recording contract at sixteen. Catching the eye of Miles Davis, DeFrancesco was invited to tour Europe with the iconic trumpeter where he began his mastery of that instrument as well. He has received two Grammy nominations and won the DownBeat Critics poll 11 times along with its Readers poll every year since 2002. Joey DeFrancesco is unquestionably the world’s leading Hammond B3 jazz organ player. His latest record is Enjoy The View, recorded with Bobby Hutcherson, David Sanborn and Billy Hart.
