About Intro to Buddhism- Book Club "Approaching the Path"
"Approaching the Buddhist Path" is the first book in a series of "The Library of Wisdom and Compassion"
by the Dalai Lama and Thubten Chodren.

The Dalai Lama shares Buddhist teachings on the complete path to full awakening that he himself has practiced his entire life.

Topics are arranged especially for people who have not been raised in Buddhist cultures and is applicable to Buddhist in the modern times and for those in the West both new to Buddhism and those who have studied or practiced for years.

The series unveils the path of Wisdom and Compassion leading to a meaningful life and a sense of purpose. Some topics address: What is mind? the dynamics of mind; how to understand and work with emotions., the Four Noble Truths, Buddhist history and the main schools of Buddhism and more!

Class will entail teachings based on the book, readings, discussions and basic mindfulness meditation practice.

Facilitator: Gyalten Chime/Lisa DuPont is a Buddhist monastic and local School Psychologist with 25 years experience of combined study and retreat in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, and a Certified Instructor in CBCT, Cognitively Based Compassion Training, Emory University
