Decades after the legendary Hot Club of France made their mark with guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli; this group of Californians has become some of the most lauded contemporary purveyors of the gypsy jazz genre. Led by guitarist Paul Mehling, the group combines the beloved French stylings with the classic, mid-century jazz styles of New York City’s famed 52nd St jazz clubs. Known for their hard-swinging approach, the Hot Club of San Francisco combines deft solos, buoyant phrasing, French lilt and big-city swing into their set list, which has garnered them fans from across many genres.
