About Hoppo! (feat. Rubén Albarrán of Café Tacvba)
HOPPO! (featuring Rubén from Café Tacvba)
In Concert at the Appleton Ballroom, Oct 27!
Hoppo! means Let's Go! in the Lakota language, a shout-out to adventure and joy, a positive force and energy, a mystical trip where apparently distant worlds collide
Hoppo! stands out, a spiritually-slanted band where Rubén Albarrán has teamed up with Chilean musicians Rodrigo Aros, Juan Pablo Villanueva and Giancarlo Valdebenito to catch the beauty and deepness of Latin American sounds: Sitar, Dilruba and Quenas meet up with Guitars, Percussion, Drums and Voices.
Chile, Mexico, India, Native Nations of the American continent, rock and the world's folklore became one whole, free spirit, giving life to Hoppo!
The Chilean-Mexican five piece band was born in 2010 with an album tribute to the feminine energy over the 70's Latin-American trova/folk classics, then developed it's own original songs through four indie productions and numerous gigs.
Hoppo! is:
Rubén Albarrán - Voices
Rodrigo Aros - Sitar/Dilruba and Flutes
Juan Pablo Villanueva - Guitar
Giancarlo Valdebenito - Bas
Carlos Icaza - Drums
