About Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony

Community members are invited to gather at the Watsonville Plaza for the lighting of the holiday tree. The 32-foot, live, Coast Redwood tree was provided by the same generous donor from the community who has donated the holiday trees for the past two years.
The lighting ceremony will feature performances by the YWCA Youth Choir, Watsonville Charter School of the Arts Choir and the St. Francis High School Choir. In addition, Santa Claus will make a special trip from the North Pole to offer his season’s greetings. Mayor Karina Cervantez will serve as the emcee at the event.
After the holiday season, the tree will be planted in its permanent home at a City of Watsonville park.
In the event of rain, a very brief ceremony without the performances by the choirs and the visit from Santa Claus will be held to mark the lighting of the tree.
