Historic Photo Processes Forum

The Historic Photo Processes Forum is a resource for photographers, collectors and conservators to study the history and practice of alternative (non-inkjet) photographic image making.

Albumen, carbon, platinum, and other vintage techniques are used today not only for their nostalgic aesthetic, but also because they represent the pinnacle of photographic printmaking – unrivaled for image quality and stability. By combing “obsolete”l wet-processes with sophistical digital imaging tools, contemporary artist-photographers are creating expressive and technically innovative hand made photographs.

Founded and moderated by color-carbon printmaker Charles Berger, the HPPF, now in its third year, meets on the third Saturday of the month and features guest presentations as well as a round-table type format which encourages participants to share their latest works and discoveries.
