About Guided Hike: Bonny Doon Ecological Reserve

Explore one of the North Coast’s rarest habitats, the inland sandhills, and see how the habitats vary depending on the underlying geology. We’ll do a fair amount of walking to see the varying habitats. We will also talk about how this area has seen local extinction of important wildlife but still supports some species that will persist with our help.

Registration is required–the meeting location will be shared in your confirmation email. Please wear sturdy shoes. We recommend that you bring layers, sun protection, and water.

Price: $15 Adult | $10 Children | 50% off for Museum Members

On the Thursday evening before this walk our guide, Dr. Grey Hayes will give a Naturalist Night lecture about this and other unique North Coast habitats, their natural history, and conservation and restoration efforts in them. We highly recommend that you attend this lecture in advance of the walk.
