About Four Corners of the Circle: Bagua Zhang for Health (4 week class)

If you ask a Bagua practitioner about the style, the first thing you might hear is that the basic pattern of Bagua practice is a circle--ever-changing, just as in nature.

This unique 4 week class will introduce you to the foundational moves and core principles of this intriguing martial and health art famous for its unparalleled methods for building strength, increasing flexibility, harmonizing mind and body, and engaging the practitioner.

No experience is necessary to attend this classic and relatively simple introduction to this great art.

This class is particularly recommended to those wishing to pursue study of Bagua Zhang at the Academy of Martial & Internal Arts. It will provide a self-contained course, easily affording several months of self-study, and will allow students with this experience to join the Academy's ongoing Bagua Zhang class.

Instructor Ted Mancuso is the director of the Academy of Martial and Internal Arts, Santa Cruz's oldest traditional Kung Fu school, with over 45 years teaching experience. He is also the director of Plum Publications, a site devoted to the promotion and preservation of these traditional Arts. He has published widely in the field, including the DVD series, "Bagua: The Art of Change," and has recently written the book, "Learning Bagua Zhang," which has received top reviews.
