Flor y Canto: Poetry Reading at UC Santa Cruz Arboretum.
An afternoon of poetry and music, in the Australian Garden. Hosted by Aideed Medina: CNP Alumna, poet, and spoken word artist.
Opening Ceremony: Indigenous Drum & Song by the Amah Mutsun UwiSmak Woman's and Children Singers.
Featuring poetry of: Adela Najarro, Adela Castillo, Christina Olague, Chris Cuadrado, Marie Butcher, and Arnoldo Colibri.
Sacred Poets: Rica De La Luz & Joseph Jason Santiago Lacour.
Flor y Canto is an ancestral tradition of writing, and sharing poetry. We are looking forward to sharing La Palabra with all of you.
Come early and explore the many gardens found at the Arboretum. Admission to the reading covers the cost of entrance and parking for the day, $10.
Enjoy the wildlife that calls the arboretum home. Follow a path to the bench that gives you an ocean view through the trees. Find yourself in the redwoods where the hawks nest. Catch a glimpse of the rabbits in the open meadow. Find your own special spot under the shaded paths.
Bring your picnic, blanket, or lawn chairs to enjoy during the reading.
Open MIC to follow program. All poets welcomed.

Adela Najarro, Chris Cuadrado, Arnoldo Colibrí, Adela Castillo, Marie Butcher, Christina Olague, Los Poetas Sagrados: Rica Dela Luz y Joseph Jason Santiago LaCour
Bohemios bienvenidos a compartir.
