About Field Sketching with Artist in Residence Debby Kaspari

Elkhorn Slough Foundation welcomes artist in residence, Debby Kaspari for a special half day workshop to learn more about the art of nature sketching. Debby will walk participants through a variety of sketching exercises, providing tips and one-on-one attention.

Debby's work has been exhibited at Woodson Museum, Bennington Center for the Arts, and others. Her work includes covers and illustrations for Bird Watcher's Digest and for Field Guide to Birds of Trinidad and Tobago (Cornell 2012). In 2011, she was artist in residence at the Harvard Forest.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their art supplies consisting of:

Sketchbook: 5x7 or larger
Drawing Pencils: 2B to 6B, any type;
Pencil sharpener
Kneaded eraser
Mechanical pencil .7 HB or 2B lead
Optional: watercolors or other color media, felt pens, and any other favorite sketching materials or tools not on the list.
