About Exploring the San Lorenzo River

The San Lorenzo River watershed is home to birds and bugs, fish and funghi, you and me! Explore the river ecosystem during the 2nd Annual Exploring the San Lorenzo River Series hosted by the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History and the Coastal Watershed Council. Learn from local naturalists, scientists and artists during this FREE weekly series, held at a different location along the river every Saturday now through April 21.

Saturday, February 10: Birds of the San Lorenzo River
Learn about the birds that thrive along the lower San Lorenzo River. Learn how to use binoculars, important bird ID tips, and more as we observe native and migratory birds along the river and learn about how these animals use and shape the riparian corridor that surrounds the river. This tour will be led by Darrow from the Bird School Project and is great for kids!

We will meet on the Riverwalk across from the Trader Joe’s parking lot. During the tour we will walk down to the Trestle Bridge and back. Binoculars will be provided.

Pre-registration is required. Visit https://coastal-watershed.org/event/exploring-san-lorenzo-river-series-tour/ to register for this free event!
