Emmanuel Jah

Emmanuel is a former child soldier from South Sudan who has become a global speaker campaigning for peace as well as a well renowned musical performer. He has performed at Live Aid, Nelson Mandela’s Birthday and also at Hillside and Vancouver, Winnipeg & Edmonton Folk Festivals to name a few.

His new album titled “The Key” was released this past September and has been nominated for a 2015 Juno World Album of Year . Two songs feature Nelly Furtado on vocals and one song “Power” was written for him by Nile Rodgers and recorded at Nile’s home in New York. Emmanuel’s new album has definite African influence in it along with pop, hip hop, etc. It’s a mixture but comes together nicely.

Also Emmanuel is one of the featured actors in Reese Witherspoon’s upcoming movie The Good Lie. It debuted at TIFF on Sep 7 and released across North America Oct 10th. He has done a lot of national press with Reese and the rest of the cast for this movie which is getting rave reviews.
