About Ecology Action's Bike To Work/School Day
Ecology Action will be hosting our 28th Annual Bike To Work/School Day on Thursday May 7th from 6:30-9:30am at 13 public sites and 45 school sites across Santa Cruz County. Cyclists will receive a free breakfast along with free bike maintenance, free massages and so much more. Bike To Work/School Day is part of our larger Bike Week with events happening from Friday May 1st to Friday May 8th.
Participants at Bike Week events will have the chance to win an electric bike from Blix Bicycles!

Friday, May 1
Bike Night First Friday at the Museum of Art & History (5pm to 9pm): Join us for our family-friendly kick-off celebration! In true First Friday fashion, this event will feature student artwork, a bike themed art fair where local artists will be selling their arts and crafts, live bike demonstrations, bike decorating stations, a group ride and so much more!
Saturday, May 2
Santa Cruz County Cycling Club Group Rides (depending on which ride you choose you will have either an 8:45 or 9:45am start time): The Cycling Club hosts group rides throughout the year which cater to beginner, intermediate and advanced cyclists.
Sunday, May 3
Rail Trail Cleanup (10am to Noon): Join Friends of the Rail & Trail and Save Our Shores for a cleanup along the railroad tracks from 7th Ave to the Boardwalk Trestle.

Watershed Tour Group Ride (12:30pm-1:30pm): Join the Coastal Watershed Council on a fun, family-friendly group ride as you wind your way from the harbor to the San Lorenzo River Levee.
Tuesday, May 5
Cycle & Dine: Ecology Action has partnered with a number of restaurants throughout Santa Cruz County to provide all you wonderful cyclists with discounts on your meal. If you bike to the following restaurants on this day, you'll receive anywhere from a 10-25% discount on your meal. Be ready to show your helmet to your server upon arrival and ask for the 'Cycle & Dine' discount! Participating restaurants include: Charlie Hong Kong, Chocolate, Surfrider Cafe, Severino's Bar & Grill, Seabright Brewery, and Midtown Cafe.
Wednesday, May 6
Gear Up Day: Ecology Action has partnered with a number of local bike shops throughout Santa Cruz to provide you with discounts on bike gear! Whether you need a new light, a helmet, even a bike, cruz by any of the following bike shops on this day to receive a 10-25% discount on select bike gear items. You don't need to bike to the shops but when you arrive make sure the sales team knows you're there for "Gear Up Day". Each shop will be offering discounts on select items so call before if you want to confirm what items will be discounted. Participating bike shops include: Bike Station Aptos, Epicenter Cycling, Spokesman Bicycles, Another Bike Shop, Family Cycling Center, Bicycle Trip and Sprockets.
