Copious Kick-Ass Carbs: Whole Food Plant-Based Culinary Class
About Copious Kick-Ass Carbs: Whole Food Plant-Based Culinary Class
Do you love the deeply satisfying feeling you get when you eat foods like whole grains, beans, and starchy vegetables like potatoes?
Are you trying to avoid these foods because you have been inundated with doomsday news about "bad carbs?"
Has the word "carb," in fact, become a dirty word in your circle of friends and acquaintances?
It's time to reclaim the value of carbohydrates as an essential component of a healthy diet!
Throughout human history, populations have thrived, stayed slim, maintained sustainable energy, and lived comfortably and well on diets centered on whole carbohydrate foods such as rice, beans, sweet potatoes, corn, and taro. In fact, in many of these cultures with primarily plant-based, carb-centric diets, royalty were the only people who got sick with the chronic diseases that are killing most Americans. Kings, queens, and other wealthy individuals were able to afford large quantities of high fat, high cholesterol, high protein foods like meat, fish, dairy, and eggs, and as a result, their health suffered. Meanwhile, the peasants in places such as Japan, China, Sicily, and Costa Rica lived long and healthy lives free of such sicknesses as heart disease, diabetes, cancer, stroke, and Alzheimer's.
Now that animal foods and junk foods are so prevalent, we are all living in an age of "diseases of nutritional extravagance." We need not be victims of this trend.
Buck the trend; reclaim carbs!
