Christian McBride Trio

Christian McBride is the premier bassist on today’s jazz and pop scene. He is simply without peer on his instrument and the first choice as collaborator for everyone from Sting and Billy Joel to Sonny Rollins and Pat Metheny. With pianist Christian Sands and drummer Ulysses Owens, Jr., McBride has created an energized unit that is “powered from the ground up.” The trio’s 2013 release Out Here (Mack Avenue Records) blends classic jazz presentation with forward thinking movement. The result is music for the soul. As McBride puts it, “the real core foundation is hardcore swingin,’ blues and American songbook…I can’t help but want to swing hard with [Christian] and Ulysses.” And swing, they do.
