We will also explore the insights of Chinese medicine in regards to nutrition and dietary therapy.
The final five weeks of the course we will explore each of the five-major yin organs of Chinese medicine (Spleen, Lungs, Kidneys, Liver & Heart). You will learn the basic Chinese medicine physiology of each organ and the corresponding ways to keep it healthy through the use of Chinese medicine theory.
Week 4 - Supporting Your Spleen.? The spleen is one of the most important digestive organs in Chinese medical theory.   This class will teach you how to live and eat to optimize spleen function and your over-all health, immunity, and energy. We will also discuss herbal remedies and points that strengthen this vital organ.
Week 5 - Listening to Your Lungs.?In Chinese medicine the lungs not only relate to respiration but also oversees the Qi of the entire body. After assessing the strength of your lung qi, you’ll get a taste of what you can do to support your lungs and we will explore some simple home and patent herbal remedies for the common cold.
Week 6 - Nourishing Your Kidneys.?The kidneys are the root and foundation of the entire body. Their vitality is connected to our growth, maturation, sexual function and the grace with which we age.  You will discover practices, foods and herbs which can enhance your kidney energy.
Week 7 - Loving Your Liver.?The liver is responsible for keeping energy moving in your body and in your psyche.  However, liver energy congestion is one of the most common imbalances we often encounter.   We will cover foods, herbs, points and exercises that you can use to harmonize your liver energy and keep your body, mind and spirit flowing smoothly.
Week 8 - Healing Your Heart.?In Chinese medicine, the heart is the Emperor of all of the other organs.   It oversees not only blood circulation but also the mind, the spirit, and consciousness itself.
