Calvary Church Fundraiser Featuring The First Street Opera


Calvary Episcopal Church and San Jose’s First Street Opera Company are pleased to announce the second annual “Opera Night” -- a gala evening of fine food and great music featuring Amy Mendon in the heart of Santa Cruz. “Opera Night” is a preservation benefit for the historic 153-year-old church building, and will take place Saturday, October 14, starting at 6:00 pm in Calvary’s Parish Hall, 532 Center Street, Santa Cruz.

Doors open for wine and hors d’oeuvres at 6:00 p.m., with dinner and the concert set to begin at 6:45 p.m. Advance tickets are $30 per person, or $55 per couple. Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $35 per person or $65 per couple. There is also an option to reserve an entire table for six people for $175 (advance only). The admission includes wine, hors d’oeuvres, a spaghetti dinner (vegetarian and gluten-free options available).

The church building will also be open from 6:00 until 6:40 for those who would like to have a look inside Santa Cruz’s landmark “Little Red Church” – the oldest continuously operating church building in Santa Cruz County.
