BassDrumBone

Their name succinctly describes their instrumentation, but the music of BassDrumBone is not so simple to define. Bassist Mark Helias, drummer Gerry Hemingway and trombonist Ray Anderson have been performing together since 1977 with their first album released on Auricle Records in 1979. Their head-turning, wide-ranging sound showcases a near elastic give-and-take between the three members, all of whom support each other interchangeably. The group continued to enthrall listeners throughout the 1980s and took a hiatus before returning to the stage and studio in the late 1990s. The trio is now readying a new double album titled The Long Road, which continues its longstanding relationship with Auricle Records.
