About An Evening With Jim Lauderdale

In a storied career that began in the late-’70s, North Carolina-born Jim Lauderdale has played bluegrass, country, honky tonk, soul, country soul, gospel, folk and rock and has collaborated or recorded with artists as diverse as Dr. Ralph Stanley, Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter, Elvis Costello, John Oates (of Hall & Oates), jam band Donna the Buffalo, blues band North Mississippi All-Stars, and fellow singer-songwriter Buddy Miller, who has been a member of Robert Plant’s Band of Joy. A prolific songwriter, Lauderdale has written songs for or had his songs recorded by an astounding list of artists, including George Strait (who has recorded more than a dozen of his songs), Patty Loveless, Gary Allan, Elvis Costello, Blake Shelton, the Dixie Chicks, and Vince Gill, among others. His latest album, London Southern, is available now.
