1-day Intro workshop to Black & White Silver Gelatin
About 1-day Intro workshop to Black & White Silver Gelatin
For either film or digital camera users, our introductory Black and White workshop is designed to enable anyone to create beautiful Silver Gelatin prints right from the darkroom. This 1-day hands-on workshop will take you through working with negatives, enlarger adjustment and focus, paper types, safe lights, proper exposure, contrast control, B&W chemistry, wet processing, and washing and drying your own Silver Gelatin prints. Come discover your inner Ansel Adams and learn some photo history while making unique and personal art of your own.
Workshop includes: Enough photo paper and chemistry to make 3-4 8”x10” prints. Transparency material to create negatives if you are using digital images.
Requirements: Either already developed film negatives (35mm, 120, or 4x5”), or high-resolution digital images (yes, images from an iPhone will work).
Instructor: Michael Morris has been doing film photography for the past 12 years, studying with Rod Klukas and Randy Efros (who was Brett Weston’s last assistant). He has done a wide variety of photography including, landscape, nature, product, portrait, weddings, macro, and experimental. Michael has had work in several group shows around the country and a solo show in LA in 2011. A practitioner of the zone system, we are very excited to have Michael leading workshops at the Special Edition Art Project darkroom facility in Santa Cruz, CA.
Price: $195
