Santa Cruz County Coalition to Overcome Racism Receives Grant
The WK Kellogg Foundation has awarded the Santa Cruz County Community Coalition to Overcome Racism a three-year, $150,000 grant to study systemic racism in the county. The council plans to use the money to investigate the extent of racism in local education, law enforcement, and immigration.

Anarchists Gather to Explain Their Beliefs
Glenn Beck would have choked on his bile. Thursday night, a group of local anarchists met with the public at the Louden Nelson Community Center to explain their political ideology in the wake of all the bad press they’ve been getting. Anarchists have been blamed by the police for the May Day riot in downtown Santa Cruz at which local businesses were vandalized.
