Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe at Moe’s Alley

Karl Denson got his start in Lenny Kravitz’s band and plays just about every instrument he can get his hands on. After two decades, he has assembled some of the best horn, guitar, bass, and keys players to form a musical Justice League. Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe recently took their live funk, soul, pop, rock extravaganza on the road with a little band you might have heard of called The Rolling Stones, who they opened for on The Zip Code Tour. This is not one to miss.

The People’s Disco at The Crepe Place

Known for their epic weekly funk night, The Crepe Place has recently started the Lazarus-esque project of bringing Disco back to Santa Cruz. This Friday will be the second ever people’s disco featuring an all-night DJ spinning your favorite disco tracks and a crackin’ dance floor. Bonus: the show is F-R-E-E. Channel your inner Disco Stu, whip out that onesie and come get down with the get down.

Doors 9pm. Show is free.

Terravita at The Catalyst Atrium

Terravita are veterans and veritable legends of the Drum n Bass genre. Over the past ten years, they have built one of the most talked about live sets in DnB, as well as a large and dedicated fanbase who appreciates their unique and ever-changing approach to the genre. Lucius on The Catalyst Main Stage

If drum and bass seem a little too heavy for your Saturday night, just head to the same box office, but cop a ticket for the main stage instead. There you will find Lucius, an up-and-coming five-piece indie/pop rock band from Brooklyn. They’ve been scooping up fans by the truckload with their clever music videos, catchy back tracks and the beautiful voices of the two frontwomen. Judging by their meteoric rise this might be your last chance to catch them in town before their tour the planet. Get after it.
