Become a part of the fun this summer. The Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History (MAH) is hosting a bevy of events and activities for all ages.

Here is a selection of some of the activities coming up this July.

Summer Art Markets

This weekend (July 12-13), browse and purchase innovative and affordable art on display at MAH’s Summer Art Markets in Abbott Square at Cooper and Front Streets. The Art Markets will include paintings, ceramic sculptures, prints and books, hand-crafted items from wood, and art ware canvas mats for the home and table.

The Art Markets start with the Teen Art Market hosted by MAH Teen Program ‘Subjects to Change’ on July 12 and the Look Collective on July 13.

The Art Market returns with the Anorak Assembly on July 26.

MAH’s 3rd Friday: Race Through Time

Learn about history on your feet at MAH’s 3rd Friday: Race Through Time on July 18. The scavenger hunt has participating teams of 2-5 people race around Santa Cruz, stopping at historical places, while attempting to solve a packet of 20 clues.

Teams receive points after solving each clue and reaching the next destination in the scavenger hunt. Points will also be given to the best-dressed team and teams who compete in ‘surprise-challenges’ at various stops.

The scavenger hunt starts at 6pm (check-in is at 5pm). Afterwards, enjoy healthy snacks and beer available at the cash bar, live music, photographs, and a prize giveaway.

Don’t have a team? Head to MAH’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/santacruzmah.
