CHRIS ROBINSON BROTHERHOOD

Roughly a year ago, Black Crowes frontman Chris Robinson set out to do something a little different. He brought his musical friends along for the ride and what started as an experiment soon exploded into an 118-show saga and two kindred albums, Big Moon Ritual and Magic Door. It’s a small venture, breaking away from the largeness of the music industry and focusing on making the right cosmic music for the right kind of psychedelic people, rolling around the country in a van with only the essentials – a tour manager and some amps. https://www.santacruz.com/chris-robinson-brotherhood-e1786041

AN ALTARED CHRISTMAS

Here at Santa Cruz Weekly, we’re all about untraditional Christmas music (can we hyperlink back to the blind lady story here? Is that possible? I don’t know).  Dogs barking Jingle Bells? Great. Our holiday favorites arranged entirely in minor keys? We’ll take it. Sometimes depressing, kinda weird and ultimately pretty funny, An Altared Christmas features twenty of the Bay Area’s most talented musicians presenting you with the soundtrack of Debbie Downer in the North Pole. https://www.santacruz.com/an-altared-christmas-e1762011
