Boulder Creek is located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, 13 miles north of Santa Cruz. The unincorporated community was formed in the 19th century to support the logging industry. Home to many shops, restaurants and a live music scene, famous for its bluegrass and down-home Americana sound. It is also the entryway to Big Basin Redwoods State Park, California's first state park, which celebrates its 150th anniversary in 2014.
